WANTED SA has learned Mexicans National caught at Canada/USA Border allegedly trying to smuggle $650,000 cash out of B.C. Canada

U.S. border guards at Blaine have arrested two men trying to sneak in from Canada carrying over $650,000 in US and Canadian cash.

The two Mexican citizens were intercepted by Blaine Border Patrol agents on Wednesday evening at about 10:30 p.m. shortly after crossing the border. Both men were carrying large backpacks stuffed with the cash.

The money, packed in sealed plastic bags, amounted to U.S. $296,185 and $360,760 in Canadian money.

Fabian Arias-Ramirez and Sergio Arroya-Rivera remain in custody pending a preliminary hearing that must be held within 20 days.

Both men were charged in U.S. District Court in Seattle with bulk cash smuggling and eluding examination at entry.

The case is also being investigated by the U.S. Department of Homeland Security.
